The AFC Champions League group stages draw took place on Thursday (August 24) and the clubs have now learnt their opponents for the upcoming season.
40 teams have been divided into ten groups, where the first five groups consists on West Asia countries, while the final five consist of the eastern Asian countries clubs. Some giants of the Asian football are in the Champions League this season, while some emerging giants have made their way through to the group stages as well.

Cristiano Ronaldo's club Al Nassr sealed a dramatic victory in the playoffs to register their name in the AFC Champions League group stages. Anderson Talisca scored a brace as the Saudi club won 4-2 against UAE club Shabab Al Ahli in the playoffs.
Al Nassr were in Pot 4 of the draw and the Saudi club has been slotted in Group E of the AFC CL groups.
Along with them, there are three other clubs in the group - Iranian club Persepolis, Tajikistan's FC Istikol and Qatar's Al Duhail.
The AFC Champions League group stage fixtures are yet to be released.
