Mohun Bagan Super Giant have qualified for the Durand Cup 2024 Final after beating Bengaluru FC in a pulsating semifinal.

The Mariners, who are the current Durand Cup holders, secured a victory in the tie-breaker as Vishal Kaith made two excellent saves in the match.

Mohun Bagan have been excellent in the Durand Cup so far. They started the competition with a 1-0 win over Downtown Heroes, backing it up with another 6-0 victory over India Air Force. Their final group stage match against arch-rivals East Bengal got cancelled in Kolkata.

In the quarterfinals, the Mariners managed a win over Punjab FC, and backed that up with a semi win over Bengaluru FC.

In the semifinal, the Kolkata club was trailing 2-0. Bengaluru took the lead with Sunil Chhetri and then doubled it with a goal from Vinith Venkatesh. The Mariners then got back to level terms with goals from Dimitri Petratos and Anirudh Thapa. In the penalties, Kaith made two superb saves as they won 4-3.
