Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Enzo Kana-Biyik from French outfit Le Havre.

The highly-rated 18-year-old forward caught attention after netting nine goals in 18 appearances for Le Havre's Under-19 side last season. His impressive form also earned him two call-ups to the senior matchday squad.

Enzo Kana-Biyik

A France youth international, Kana-Biyik will spend the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Swiss Super League side Lausanne-Sport to continue his development with regular first-team football.

Who is Enzo Kana-Biyik?

Enzo Kana-Biyik was born in January 2007 in Paris, France, into a family steeped in footballing tradition. Though still in his teens, football runs in his blood-his father is André Kana-Biyik, a former Cameroon international who played at the highest level, including the 1990 FIFA World Cup and multiple Africa Cup of Nations campaigns. His uncle, François Omam-Biyik, famously scored the winning goal against Argentina in the opening match of the 1990 World Cup, making him a national icon.

The sporting pedigree extends even further, with Enzo's younger brother currently honing his skills at Paris Saint-Germain's youth academy. Such a lineage has not only placed a natural spotlight on Enzo from a young age, but also instilled a sense of professional discipline and ambition, evident in his early career choices.

Development at Le Havre

Enzo's formal football education began at Le Havre AC, one of France's most respected talent incubators. The club boasts a legacy of developing elite-level players-Paul Pogba, Dimitri Payet, and Riyad Mahrez among them. Enzo joined Le Havre's ranks in his early childhood and steadily progressed through the age-group teams, earning praise for both his physical attributes and tactical maturity.

By the time he reached the U19 squad, Enzo had become a central figure in attack. In the 2024-25 season, he recorded 9 goals and 1 assist in 17 matches, a respectable return that reflected both his finishing ability and his instinct for positioning. His consistent performances earned him call-ups to Le Havre's senior squad, where he was included on the bench for two Ligue 1 games and one Coupe de France match, though he did not feature on the pitch.

Despite the absence of a senior debut, Enzo's progress did not go unnoticed, particularly among scouts from elite European clubs.

Enzo Kana-Biyik Man United Contract

United offered a five-year contract, running until 2030, with an optional extension clause for an additional year. This long-term commitment signals the club's belief in Enzo's developmental potential and strategic value.

As part of their structured integration approach, United will loan him to FC Lausanne-Sport for the 2025-26 season. The Swiss club is owned by INEOS, the same group that now holds a major stake in Manchester United. This internal ecosystem allows for controlled development, ensuring Enzo gains first-team experience while being closely monitored by United's sporting department.

Style of Play & Technical Profile

Enzo Kana-Biyik operates primarily as a central striker, though he has the versatility to drop into deeper positions or drift wide. His game is built around physical strength, off-the-ball movement, and a strong work ethic-traits that reflect his African roots and French academy training.

He is particularly adept at: Holding up the ball under pressure, Timing runs into the box and engaging defenders with intelligent movement and positioning, finishing with both feet, though still developing his composure in front of goal.

At 18, his tactical discipline and spatial awareness are notable. He plays with a maturity beyond his years, often showing a willingness to sacrifice personal glory for team structure. However, there are still areas requiring refinement-consistency, first-touch control, and decision-making under pressure are focal points for the next stage of his growth.
