Who is Karim Adeyemi? Germany International Who is Set to Join FC Barcelona This Summer

Karim Adeyemi is set to join Barcelona in the summer window, as it was reported by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Germany international has been excellent for Borussia Dortmund and as per Romano, he will be wearing the Blaugrana colours at the start of the new season.

An agreement has been reached between the two clubs for Karim Adeyemi's transfer, with the deal worth €22 million upfront, plus €7 million in performance-related add-ons tied to title success and appearance milestones. Adeyemi was keen on a move to Barcelona and prioritized the Catalan club over all other options. The German forward is now set to sign a five-year contract with the Blaugrana.

Who is Karim Adeyemi?

German forward Karim Adeyemi has emerged as one of Europe's most exciting young attackers thanks to his exceptional pace, versatility and eye for goal. Capable of playing as a winger or centre-forward, Adeyemi has become a key player for Borussia Dortmund and has also played for the German national team as well.

Adeyemi was born on January 18, 2002, in Munich, Germany. His father is Nigerian, while his mother is Romanian, making him eligible to represent multiple countries at international level. However, Adeyemi chose to play for Germany and has represented the nation from youth level before earning his senior debut.

Club Career

Adeyemi began his football journey in the youth systems of TSV Forstenried and Bayern Munich before joining SpVgg Unterhaching. His impressive performances earned him a move to Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg in 2018.

He initially gained valuable first-team experience on loan with FC Liefering, Salzburg's feeder club, where he developed into one of Europe's brightest young forwards. After returning to Salzburg, Adeyemi enjoyed a breakthrough spell, helping the club win multiple Austrian Bundesliga and Austrian Cup titles while also making his mark in the UEFA Champions League.

In the summer of 2022, Borussia Dortmund signed the German international as one of the club's marquee additions. Since arriving in the Bundesliga, Adeyemi has continued to impress with his direct running, explosive acceleration and ability to create and score goals.

International Career

Adeyemi starred for Germany's youth teams and was part of the squad that won the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. He made his senior international debut later that year and has so far played 11 matches for them, scoring 1 goal in his career.
