East Bengal have confirmed the signing of Martand Raina from Rajasthan United, the club announced on Wednesday (July 9).
Raina, who has been promising in the I-League, has joined the Kolkata giants on a three-year contract, effectively staying till the end of the 2027-28 season.

Martand Raina is a 24-year-old Indian centre-back (also listed as a defensive midfielder) who made his mark with Rajasthan United in the 2024-25 I-League. He is the new signing for East Bengal.
Martand Raina emerged from Rajasthan United, making his mark in the 2024-25 I-League season. Over the course of 21 appearances, the 24‑year‑old defender scored four goals, a notable feat for a center‑back-while showcasing strong ball progression and aerial prowess.
His intelligent interceptions, ability to carry the ball forward, and effectiveness on set‑pieces made him one of the standout defenders in the 2nd tier of Indian football last season. Following interest from at least six ISL clubs, including Mumbai City FC, Punjab FC, and Hyderabad FC, East Bengal successfully secured Raina's signature.
"I am honored to join a club with such a rich legacy and passionate fan base. I am no stranger to Bengal football, having represented Adamas United previously. This is a huge opportunity for me as I look forward to contributing to East Bengal's success and making the supporters proud through my performances," Raina said to the club after signing.
East Bengal have also renewed the contract of PV Vishnu as the Kerala sensation is set to stay till 2028 as well. Oscar Bruzon is expected to have a few strong signings in the summer, and Raina's arrival may just be the beginning of that.
