Rio Chima Ngumoha (born 29 August 2008) is a promising English professional footballer of Nigerian descent who plays as a winger or attacking midfielder for Liverpool FC in the Premier League. He is known for his pace, technique, ball control, dribbling, agility, and versatility across the front line, with particular strength as a left winger.
Ngumoha was born in the London Borough of Newham, England. He began his football journey early, joining the Chelsea youth academy at the age of eight. He developed through Chelsea's ranks, winning the Under-17 Premier League Cup in April 2024, where he scored in the final against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Despite Chelsea's interest in retaining him, he moved to Liverpool in the summer of 2024, seeking clearer progression pathways into first-team football.

Chelsea Academy: Progressed through Chelsea's youth system from age 8 until 2024. Won the U17 Premier League Cup in 2024 and played for Chelsea's U21 side.
Liverpool FC: Joined Liverpool's academy in September 2024. Made his debut for Liverpool U18s at age 16. Trained with the Liverpool first team during international breaks soon after arrival and made his UEFA Youth League debut against AC Milan in 2024.
Senior Debut and Progression
Ngumoha became the youngest Liverpool player to start a competitive first-team match during an FA Cup win against Accrington Stanley on 11 January 2025, aged 16 years and 135 days. He played 71 minutes in that match before being substituted. By summer 2025, he was included in Liverpool's pre-season tour squad to Hong Kong and Japan, scoring in a friendly against Yokohama F. Marinos and showcasing his potential as a genuine attacking option.
International Career
Ngumoha has represented England at various youth levels, including U15, U16, and U17. He was called up for the 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and has featured prominently for the youth national team.
