Why Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo's mother doesn't stay with son and his family?

Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo's family dynamics have taken center stage as his mother, Dolores Aveiro, has reportedly refrained from visiting her son in Riyadh since February.

Ronaldo's move to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia in a lucrative £177-million-a-year deal marked a significant career shift after the termination of his contract with Manchester United by mutual consent.

However, despite the prolific striker's remarkable performance, scoring 44 times for Al Nassr in the 2023 calendar year, his mother has been noticeably absent from many of his games.

Dolores Aveiro, who had previously lived with Ronaldo until 2018, was a frequent visitor during his stints with Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United. However, her presence has reduced since Ronaldo's move to Saudi Arabia, with her last visit taking place in February.

Although she has reunited with him during international duty in Portugal, she has not returned to Saudi Arabia to see Ronaldo, his partner Georgina Rodriguez, and her grandchildren in their new family compound.

However, in an earlier interview, Aveiro candidly shared the reason behind her infrequent visits which is the long and arduous flight from Lisbon to Riyadh.

From Portugal to Riyadh, the journey lasts around 15 hours with a mandatory layover in Dubai. It has deterred her from making a trip to his son's place. It even discouraged her from using Ronaldo's private jet, which she hadn't utilized in a while.

As the Saudi Pro League is currently on a break, Ronaldo took the opportunity to spend quality time with his mother, bridging the gap caused by the long-distance separation.

Ronaldo recently made a heartwarming gesture by flying to Madeira to celebrate his mother's 69th birthday after playing his final game of the year.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner surprised Dolores with a brand new Porsche Cayenne, with Ronaldo's eldest child, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., accompanying her to the surprise.

A touching video capturing Dolores' reaction was shared online, showcasing her overwhelming joy upon seeing the luxurious gift.
