Why Cristiano Ronaldo's goal count remains same despite scoring Hat-Trick against Rio Ave?

Cristiano Ronaldo showcased his extraordinary goal-scoring prowess once again by netting a hat-trick for Al Nassr in a commanding 4-0 victory over Portuguese side Rio Ave during a 2025 pre-season friendly at Estádio Algarve.

Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 44th minute with a clinical finish, capitalizing on a precise combination play inside the penalty area with teammate João Félix. This goal set the tone for Al Nassr, who dominated the match control and chances.

He struck again in the 63rd minute, further extending the lead with a powerful header shortly after Sadio Mané missed a penalty awarded for a handball in the box. Notably, Ronaldo showed leadership and team spirit by allowing Mané the penalty attempt despite his own scoring prowess.

Finally, Ronaldo completed his hat-trick at the 68th minute from the penalty spot after João Félix was fouled, calmly slotting the spot-kick past the goalkeeper to seal his three-goal performance.

Why this Hat-Trick won't count for Cristiano Ronaldo?

Although Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a hat-trick for Al Nassr, it won't be added to his official goal tally. The Portugal international has 938 career goals so far, and he remains 62 goals away from the landmark 1000 goals. And the reason behind Ronaldo's goal against Rio Ave not adding is that it is not a competitive match. Due to being only a pre-season friendly, Ronaldo won't be able to showcase the stats in his official career graph.

Ronaldo netted 35 goals last season for the Saudi club across all competitions. He currently is just a goal away from 100 competitive goals for Al Nassr since his arrival in 2023.

When will Cristiano Ronaldo play again?

The Al Nassr captain will now play in a competitive match on August 19 as they take on Al Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup. Before that, Al Nassr will play their final pre-season friendly on August 10 against Almeria.
