Manchester United have secured the signing of RB Leipzig's sensational striker Benjamin Sesko in a deal worth €76.5 million, with up to €8.5 million in add-ons.
The 22-year-old Slovenian international, who has signed a five-year contract until June 2030, chose United over Newcastle despite the Magpies' higher bid and Champions League football. Sesko's decision underscores the allure of United's ambitious project and Amorim's vision for a dynamic, youthful squad, who have already roped in two other players this season.

Sesko, standing at 6ft 5in, brings a rare blend of pace, physicality, and clinical finishing. Last season, he scored 21 goals and provided six assists for Leipzig, topping the charts for players under 23 in Europe's top five leagues. His versatility to play centrally or from the left fits perfectly into Amorim's fluid attacking system, alongside new signings Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
United's director of football, Jason Wilcox, hailed Sesko's "electrifying pace and ability to dominate defenders," predicting he'll thrive at Old Trafford.
Benjamin Sesko is not playing for Manchester United today because he has just joined the club and is yet to have a training session with his new teammates. He is set to be unveiled in front of the fans at the Old Trafford before the Fiorentina match and will resume training next week.
Sesko may make his debut for Manchester United in their Premier League opener against Arsenal on August 17, 2025. Incidentally, the Slovenian was strongly linked with a move to Arsenal in this transfer window, but the move didn't materialize as Arsenal ended up signing Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres.
