Former Arsenal player and current sporting director Edu is poised to leave Arsenal in a shocking manner.
As per reports, the Brazilian will be leaving the club shortly as it was communicated to the club following his visit to Brazil for personal reasons.

Edu's role within Arsenal saw significant achievements, most notably after he stepped into the position of the club's first-ever sporting director in November 2022, having initially joined as technical director in July 2019.
During his time, Edu was pivotal in the acquisition of key players such as Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice. He also played a crucial role in facilitating the departures of high-profile players including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil. Under his guidance, Arsenal embarked on a substantial spending spree, shelling out £867m, a figure surpassed only by Chelsea and Manchester United.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and Edu had a magnificent relationship, which has further surprised the Arsenal fans behind the reason for Edu's sudden departure.
Although it remains unclear, Edu's decision is linked to a potential role with Evangelos Marinakis' clubs. Marinakis is a Greek businessman who owns multiple football clubs across Europe.
Greek giants Olympiacos, English Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest and Portuguese club Rio Ave are the clubs which are owned by Marinakis. It is reported that Edu is likely to hone a bigger role under the Greek, which potentially accelerated his decision to leave the Gunners.
The Brazilian's departure leaves a significant void at Arsenal. The 46-year-old had previously expressed long-term ambitions for the club when Arteta renewed his contract in September.
The North London club is currently going through a tough couple of weeks. After drawing against Liverpool at the Emirates, Mikel Arteta's men suffered their second league defeat of the season against Newcastle United last Saturday. They will now have a tough trip at San Siro in the UEFA Champions League as they lock horns against Inter Milan.
