Manchester United have officially completed the signing of highly rated Danish defender Patrick Dorgu from Serie A side Lecce.
As first reported by The Athletic on January 29, the two clubs had reached a broad agreement on a deal worth €30 million (£25.2m), with an additional €5m (£4.2m) in performance-related add-ons. The 20-year-old has now put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half-year contract at Old Trafford, running until 2030, with the option to extend for a further year.

Dorgu becomes the second senior player to join United under head coach Ruben Amorim, following the arrival of teenage centre-back Ayden Heaven from Arsenal.
The Danish international is a versatile left-footed player, capable of operating as a left wing-back, full-back, or even in more advanced roles on the flank. His dynamic style of play and attacking instincts fit well with Amorim's preferred 3-4-2-1 system, where he is expected to provide width and energy on the left side.
Dorgu has been one of the standout young talents in Serie A, impressing with his pace, dribbling ability, and defensive solidity since making his breakthrough at Lecce. But along with that, Dorgu's attacking ability is immense as well. The youngster can also be deployed as a midfielder, or on the right wing - and this multifaceted ability does make him an asset for the Red Devils.
Dorgu, who may primarily play as a left wing-back for Man United, played 11 times as a right winger for Lecce, and scored goals as well. He found the net against Venezia, Hellas Verona and Parma in the Serie A last season - playing at the right wing in all of these occasions.
With his combination of defensive discipline and attacking flair, Dorgu offers United an exciting new dimension on the flanks. As he adapts to life in the Premier League, the young Dane will be eager to make an immediate impact and help turn the club's fortunes around in the second half of the season.
