Will Cristiano Ronaldo play in Club World Cup 2025? Al Nassr star gives Final Verdict ahead of Nations League Final

By MyKhel Staff

The newly reformed Club World Cup 2025 is set to start from June 14 as 32 clubs will be participating in the renovated tournament, orchestrated by FIFA which will now be taking place once in four years.

A host of star players will be participating as the tournament sets base in USA, with Lionel Messi being the flagship name, who will represent Inter Miami.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Amid this, the footballing world has been in anticipation of another modern-day legend, Cristiano Ronaldo. Although Ronaldo's Saudi club Al Nassr didn't qualify for the Club World Cup, there were murmurs of the Portugal star leaving Al Nassr and joining a club participating in the tournament.

There were offers for the former Real Madrid player, most notably from Brazil. Also, a bigger rumour linked Ronaldo with a move to fellow Saudi club Al Hilal, who are part of the Club World Cup 2025.

And with a few days away, Ronaldo has given his final verdict. Ahead of the UEFA Nations League Final between Portugal and Spain, the Al Nassr skipper spoke to the media, confirming his stand.

"There have been a lot of conversations, but there are certain things that I see as making sense and not making sense," Ronaldo was quoted as saying by The Athletic.

"You can't go to everything, you have to think short, medium and long term. I've pretty much made up my mind not to go to the Club World Cup, but I've had plenty of offers," he added, thus almost stamping that the 40-year-old may not be seen in USA in the next few weeks.

Ronaldo had yet another magnificent season with Al Nassr but the campaign ended without a trophy for the Saudi giants. Since joining in 2022, Ronaldo has scored 99 goals for the club in 111 appearances. The current campaign ended for him with 35 goals across all competitions as Al Nassr finished 3rd in the Saudi Pro League.
