Tom Edozie delivered a dramatic first Premier League goal in the 94th minute as Wolves fought back to draw 2-2 with leaders Arsenal, denying Mikel Arteta's side the chance to move seven points clear while having already played one game more than their main title rivals.
The equaliser capped a comeback from 2-0 down at a freezing Molineux, giving Wolves a rare positive moment in a difficult campaign and leaving Arsenal frustrated after failing to close out a match that had appeared under control for long spells.

Arsenal had seemed on course for a routine away victory when Bukayo Saka struck early and Piero Hincapie doubled the advantage, yet Hugo Bueno replied with a curling effort before Edozie's late strike transformed the atmosphere inside the stadium and turned a routine away win into dropped points.
The match also carried historic weight, as Opta noted Wolves became the first side in Premier League history to start a day at the bottom of the table and avoid defeat against the team beginning the day top, despite trailing by at least two goals during the contest.

Arsenal failed to win a Premier League away match after leading by two goals for the first time since drawing at West Ham in April 2023, ending an 18-game sequence of victories on the road in the league when holding at least a two-goal advantage.
Wolves also broke a long sequence, avoiding defeat at home in the Premier League after trailing by two or more goals for the first time since a 3-2 success over Manchester City in December 2019, halting a 31-game losing run at Molineux in similar circumstances.
The game continued a curious trend involving Arsenal this season, as four players have registered their first Premier League goals against Arteta's side, with three of those coming for Wolves and one for Sunderland in different fixtures.
Those first-time scorers include Tolu Arokodare in December, Hugo Bueno and Tom Edozie in the latest meeting on Wednesday, and Brian Brobbey for Sunderland in November, underlining how emerging or less-established attackers have found breakthrough moments against Arsenal this campaign.
| Player | Club | Opponent | Competition | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tolu Arokodare | Wolves | Arsenal | Premier League | First Premier League goal |
| Hugo Bueno | Wolves | Arsenal | Premier League | First Premier League goal |
| Tom Edozie | Wolves | Arsenal | Premier League | First Premier League goal |
| Brian Brobbey | Sunderland | Arsenal | Premier League | First Premier League goal |
Edozie achieved a personal milestone as the seventh player to score on a Premier League debut against opponents starting the day top of the table, and the first to do this since Antony netted for Manchester United against Arsenal in September 2022.
Reflecting on the moment, Edozie told BBC Sport: "It's a dream come true. Getting my debut is one thing and then scoring on my debut is another. Just so thankful, just so happy."
Edozie explained that the flow of the match gave confidence before the late chance arrived, as Wolves began to keep the ball better and the rhythm shifted towards a more open contest in the final stages at Molineux.
Edozie added: "As I was watching the game I saw the game becoming a bit tense and we had more control of the ball than before, so I knew that going into the last couple of minutes, it was going to be more end-to-end, so I just tried to do the best I can. Luckily, I scored. The ball dropped to me and just trying to keep it as low as people and just as hard as I can. They couldn't stop it, so it was my goal. Nothing was really going through my head, it was just loads of different emotions. I was so happy to be there when fans were cheering. Something I dream of."
The draw leaves Arsenal frustrated after missing the chance to strengthen position at the top, while Wolves gain both an important point and a morale lift from ending several negative sequences, with Edozie's late impact adding a memorable personal story to a tense Premier League meeting.
