Matheus Cunha, a forward for Wolves, has received an additional match suspension following his red card in an FA Cup match against Bournemouth earlier this month. During the game, which ended in a penalty shoot-out loss for Wolves at the Vitality Stadium, Cunha scored a remarkable long-range equaliser in a 1-1 draw before being sent off.
Cunha's dismissal came after he lashed out at Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez three times, necessitating intervention from Vitor Pereira's staff to escort him off the field. Initially banned for three matches due to violent conduct and accepting a charge of improper behaviour, Cunha now faces an extra game ban and a £50,000 fine. He has already missed matches against Everton and Southampton.

The Brazilian international will be absent for Wolves' upcoming Premier League fixtures against West Ham at home and Ipswich away. His return is scheduled for April 13 against Tottenham. Earlier this year, Cunha served a two-match suspension after an incident involving an Ipswich Town security guard following a defeat in December.
Despite these setbacks, Cunha has been pivotal in Wolves' efforts to avoid relegation. With 13 goals in 26 league appearances this season, he trails only Raul Jimenez, who scored 17 goals in the 2019-20 season for Wolves. The team's recent victory at St Mary's leaves them nine points ahead of relegation rivals Ipswich and Leicester City with 27 points still available.
Earlier this year, the 25-year-old extended his stay at Molineux by signing a new contract. This agreement reportedly includes a £62.5 million release clause. Despite his commitment to Wolves, Cunha has attracted interest from clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Nottingham Forest.
Cunha's contributions have been significant as Wolves strive to maintain their Premier League status. His performance on the field continues to draw attention from top clubs across the league.
