Women's Super League Predictions: Chelsea Aims For Title While Manchester City Seeks Recovery

The Women's Super League season is nearing its end with just five matches remaining. Chelsea leads by eight points, making them strong contenders for the title. Their recent comeback against Manchester City in the Women's Champions League has boosted their quadruple hopes. Arsenal and Manchester City are also in the mix, aiming to keep pressure on Chelsea as they face Brighton and Crystal Palace respectively.

Sunday's fixtures kick off at Leigh Sports Village where Manchester United will host Everton. United, with a 73.7% chance of winning, aim to secure second place before Arsenal's later match. Everton, having not beaten United in their last 11 encounters, have an 11% chance of victory. Despite a recent away win against Villa, Everton struggles with consistency on the road.

Chelsea's Title Chase and Man City's Recovery

United's defence poses a challenge for Everton, who have only converted 20% of their shots this year. In contrast, United boasts a 40% conversion rate from shots on target in the league. This efficiency makes them formidable opponents for any team.

Aston Villa faces Liverpool while battling relegation fears after six consecutive defeats. They haven't won in seven league games this year (D1 L6). Liverpool, despite a recent loss to Arsenal, has won their last three league matches against Villa and is expected to continue this trend with a 62.9% chance of victory.

Villa's manager Natalia Arroyo seeks her first win with only a 17.4% probability of success. Jordan Nobbs could be key for Villa as she has scored more goals against Liverpool than any other WSL opponent.

Leicester City vs Tottenham

Leicester City aims to distance themselves from relegation threats as they face Tottenham. Leicester has won three of their last six WSL games and seeks another home victory after drawing with Spurs last season. Tottenham has never lost to Leicester in the WSL but is currently on a five-match losing streak.

This fixture is tightly contested with a draw probability of 26.4%. Leicester has a slight edge with a 37.7% chance of winning compared to Tottenham's 35.9%.

Chelsea vs West Ham United

Chelsea appears unstoppable as they prepare to face West Ham United at home. With an 89.1% chance of winning according to Opta's supercomputer, Chelsea looks set to maintain their lead at the top of the table. West Ham's chances are slim at just 3.8%, while a draw stands at 7.1% likelihood.

The Blues have dominated past encounters with West Ham, winning 12 out of 13 meetings in the WSL and excelling in London derbies overall. Despite West Ham's improved form recently, Chelsea remains unbeaten under Sonia Bompastor in league play.

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

Arsenal visits Crystal Palace aiming to extend their winning streak after an impressive Champions League comeback midweek. The Gunners are favourites with a 78.9% chance of victory against Palace, who are fighting relegation threats despite winning their last home game against Villa.

Arsenal has not lost to newly promoted teams since May 2014 and holds an unbeaten record against such opposition over the past years (W23 D3). Their recent form suggests another win is likely as they have triumphed in ten out of their last eleven league matches.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester City

Manchester City travels to Brighton seeking redemption after a disappointing European exit against Chelsea midweek. The Citizens are favourites with a 73.7% chance of victory based on past performances against Brighton, where they have won all five away games by an aggregate score of 25-3.

Brighton holds an outside chance with an 11.5% probability of winning and remains one of three teams unbeaten at home this season despite struggling overall since early successes this campaign.

The Women's Super League continues to deliver thrilling action as teams battle for titles and survival alike across these crucial final fixtures.
