Brighton have been impressive this season, currently sitting third in the Women's Super League. However, they face a significant challenge against Arsenal on Friday. This match is one of two kicking off the WSL weekend, with league leaders Manchester City also playing Tottenham. On Sunday, Chelsea will visit Liverpool after a 5-0 victory at Goodison Park. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace will play Everton, and West Ham will face Leicester City. Manchester United will conclude the weekend against Aston Villa.
Under interim manager Renee Slegers, Arsenal remain unbeaten and are expected to continue their winning streak against Brighton. The Opta supercomputer gives Arsenal an 82.1% chance of victory, while Brighton's chances stand at 6.8%. A draw is predicted at 11.2%. Historically, Arsenal have dominated Brighton in the WSL, winning all 12 encounters with a combined score of 44-2.

Despite Brighton's strong start this season with four wins from six games, they have never won consecutive away matches in the competition. Nikita Parris will be a key player for Brighton as she faces her former club. Beth Mead could shine for Arsenal; she has more combined goals and assists against Brighton than any other team.
Arsenal might be favourites this weekend, but Manchester City are not far behind according to Opta's model. City have an 81.8% chance of winning against Tottenham based on simulations. Spurs' only win in four previous visits to City came in September 2021 when they won 2-1 after trailing.
City have won eight out of nine WSL meetings with Tottenham and are unbeaten in their first six games this season for the fourth time since 2016. They have never lost a Friday game in the competition, having beaten Chelsea last season on such an occasion.
Chelsea's manager Sonia Bampastor has started well and is expected to maintain that form against Liverpool. Chelsea have a 73.1% chance of winning, while Liverpool's chances are rated at 11.8%. Bompastor could become the first manager to win their first four away games in the WSL.
Chelsea have scored 14 goals away this season and aim to extend their unbeaten run against Liverpool despite recent struggles on Merseyside. Matt Beard has had some success against Chelsea as Liverpool manager but faces a tough challenge this time around.
Everton are struggling this season without a win so far and sit at the bottom of the table as they prepare to face Crystal Palace on Sunday. The supercomputer predicts a close match with Palace having a slight edge at 37.3%, while Everton's chances are at 36.3%. A draw stands at 26.4% probability.
Everton's current tally of two points matches their worst start to a WSL campaign alongside previous seasons when they faced relegation or finished low in the standings.
West Ham hope to secure their first win of the season against Leicester City on Sunday after being unbeaten in three previous home games against them (W2 D1). The supercomputer gives West Ham a higher chance of winning at 48.6%, compared to Leicester's 25.6% probability.
The Hammers are currently predicted as most likely to finish bottom this term due to their poor form with no wins from six games so far (D2 L4). Leicester have also struggled away from home recently but managed one victory over Everton earlier this year.
The final match sees Manchester United host Aston Villa where Marc Skinner's team is favoured with a win probability of 73.4%. Villa has only an 11.2% chance according to predictions by Opta’s model based on recent performances by both teams throughout this campaign so far which shows Villa having failed yet again across opening fixtures without securing any victories thus far (D2 L4).
Aston Villa have lost all four away meetings with United conceding heavily each time except once last season when they scored during defeat (1-2). Meanwhile United remain unbeaten though drawing last two matches consecutively which could lead them towards another draw if not careful enough defensively speaking given how solid foundations built upon conceding just two goals after five league games played already facing fewer than ten shots thrice among those encounters overall making them formidable opponents indeed especially considering past records held between these sides historically speaking too!
