India will face Afghanistan for the second time in four days. The first match ended in a goalless draw. Now both teams need an absolute win in this match on Tuesday in Guwahati to have any hopes of progressing to the World Cup qualifiers third round.
So far, India and Afghanistan have played a total of 12 times at the senior level. The Blue Tigers have won the most number (7) of these fixtures. Their last match was only three days ago on March 22 in their third World Cup qualifiers which ended in a 0-0 draw.

India and Afghanistan meet for the return leg of their World Cup qualifiers game. In the first leg, India were the favourites going into the match which was held in Saudi Arabia where the two teams fought, but ended the match in a 0-0 draw.
India created a lot of attacking chances against the Lions of Khorasan. Afghanistan managed to create some excellent chances of their own as well. However, it was all in vain. Going into this match, India will again be the favourites.
The Blue Tigers will also need to win this match if they are to progress to the third round. This will also be the 150th international game for skipper Sunil Chhetri. However, India will still miss Sahal Abdul Samad with a hamstring injury.
