Ian Wright has pointed fingers at the media for allegedly creating tension between Jude Bellingham and England's manager, Thomas Tuchel. Since taking over the national team, Tuchel has openly criticised Bellingham's conduct on the pitch. He initially described Bellingham's behaviour as unacceptable but later retracted those remarks. Despite this, he excluded the Real Madrid player from England's October matches.
Bellingham made a comeback this month, starting in a match against Albania where he earned the Player of the Match accolade in a 2-0 victory. However, Tuchel expressed dissatisfaction with Bellingham's reaction to being substituted during the game. He reminded the 22-year-old of the importance of respecting his decisions as a coach.

Wright, a former England and Arsenal striker, defended Bellingham on Instagram. He stated: "They [the media] need to create this kind of beef because there's nothing else to talk about [until] the World Cup so it's going to be this all the way to the World Cup. They hate that they can't get to him. They hate that they can't influence his career like they have done to so many before him. A blessed young man with talent and love in abundance."
Tuchel clarified that he did not want Bellingham's reaction to his substitution against Albania to become a major issue. With England having secured their spot in next year's World Cup, Tuchel has four months to strategise for his next squad selection before regrouping in March.
The ongoing narrative surrounding Bellingham highlights how media coverage can impact player-coach relationships. As preparations for the World Cup continue, maintaining harmony within the team remains crucial for success on football’s biggest stage.
