Lamine Yamal States Real Madrid Can Criticise Only After Beating Barcelona

Lamine Yamal asserts that Real Madrid can only criticise him once they defeat Barcelona. He highlights his role in Barca's recent victories and expresses confidence ahead of upcoming matches.

Lamine Yamal has openly criticised Real Madrid, asserting that they cannot complain while Barcelona continues to outperform them on the field. Yamal was instrumental in Barcelona's recent Copa del Rey victory over Madrid, providing two assists in a thrilling 3-2 win after extra time. This triumph marked Barca's 32nd domestic cup win and their third consecutive Clasico victory this season.

Barcelona's dominance over Real Madrid this season includes a 4-0 win at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in LaLiga and a 5-2 victory in the Supercopa de Espana final in January. Hansi Flick has become only the second Barcelona coach to win his first three Clasicos, following Pep Guardiola, who won his first five. Yamal's comments about Madrid have stirred reactions from their fans and some Spanish media outlets, but he remains unfazed by the backlash.

Yamal: Madrid Can Criticise After Beating Barca

Yamal expressed confidence ahead of Barcelona's Champions League semi-final against Inter, saying, "While I'm winning, they can't say anything." He added that he feels motivated rather than pressured before games. "I don't have any fear," he said, noting that he left fear behind long ago. The atmosphere at major matches like the Copa del Rey final is something he enjoys rather than sees as pressure.

This season, Yamal has been involved in 34 goals across all competitions, with 14 goals and 20 assists. Only Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski have more goal involvements for Barcelona. Yamal's performance also places him well ahead of other teenagers in Europe's top five leagues, with Paris Saint-Germain's Desire Doue being the closest with 24 goal involvements.

Despite comparisons to Lionel Messi due to his impressive performances, Yamal dismisses such parallels. "I don't compare myself with anyone," he stated. He admires Messi as the greatest player ever but prefers to follow his own path without drawing comparisons. Yamal aims to carve out his own identity on the pitch.

Barcelona is set to face Inter in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday at home before heading to San Siro for the return leg next Tuesday. The team hopes to continue their successful run under Flick's guidance as they aim for further glory this season.
