Bengaluru, December 17: Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has talked up a potential move for Mohamed Salah after admitting that the Liverpool star is a player he “rates a lot.”

Salah is the Premier League’s leading scorer this season with 13 goals already in the Premier League and has scored a total of 19 goals in all competitions this season for the Reds.

The Egyptian international joined Liverpool this summer only and has been an instant hit for the Anfield giants and Real Madrid have been strongly linked with a move for the Egyptian.

Salah was formerly a Premier League flop with Chelsea but he did well in Italy with Fiorentina and Roma after that.

However, his form with Liverpool has been on another level and the fans fear that it might attract interest from other clubs in Europe and Real Madrid is a club that can lure almost any player they want.

Real Madrid are believed to be looking for a new forward, and Salah has been tipped by some as a potential Los Blancos signing. His international coach Hector Cuper claims that Real Madrid are indeed looking to launch a move.

While Egypt legend Mido also claims he believes Salah will move to the Santiago Bernabeu sooner rather than later. And Zidane himself appears to be keen on a potential switch, hailing Salah’s current form while also gushing about his future development.

Zizou said: “Salah is a great player. He showed that at Roma, now at Liverpool.

“He’s still young and is improving all the time. I don’t talk much about other players, but he is a player I rate a lot.”

Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard has also been mooted as Real’s next big signing, but may end up staying at Chelsea should Zidane opt for his former Chelsea teammate Salah instead.
