Harmanpreet Singh has led the Indian hockey team to another glory as India won the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 in China on Tuesday (September 17).

The Indian men's hockey team has been showcasing outstanding performance over the years. Their recent achievements highlight this prowess.

They have clinched their fifth Asian Champions Trophy title by defeating China 1-0. This victory followed their semi-final triumph against South Korea on September 16, where they secured a convincing 4-1 win, marking their sixth final appearance in eight editions.

India's dominance was evident throughout the tournament. During the round-robin stage of the six-team competition, they maintained a clean sheet in five matches. This consistency continued as they overcame China in the final held at Moqi Training Base, Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia. Jugraj Singh scored the decisive goal early in the fourth quarter.

With this latest victory, India now holds the record for most wins in the Asian Men's Hockey Champions Trophy. They have surpassed Pakistan, who has three titles to their name, including one shared with India. The Indian team's ability to consistently perform at such high levels is commendable and sets a benchmark for others.

They have been led amazingly by their talismanic captain Harmanpreet Singh. The 28-year-old star has led his troops brilliantly and was also named as the Best player of the Tournament.
