India secured their place in the final of the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 with a dominant 4-1 win over Korea in the second semifinal, held in Hulunbuir on September 14.
The Indian side, led by captain Harmanpreet Singh, delivered a hat-trick, ensuring their spot in the title match for the second consecutive edition. India started the game with clear intent, pressing forward from the outset.

Their persistence paid off in the 13th minute when Uttam Singh opened the scoring. A well-constructed move saw Uttam find the back of the net after quick interplay in the circle, putting India ahead 1-0. Korea, struggling to keep pace with the Indian attack, failed to create many chances during the opening quarter.
India doubled their lead early in the second quarter. A penalty corner in the 19th minute gave Harmanpreet Singh the chance to convert, and the experienced drag-flicker made no mistake. Though his shot took a deflection off a Korean stick, it was enough to give India a comfortable 2-0 lead heading into the half-time break.
The third quarter saw the action intensify as both teams looked to make their mark. India extended their lead to 3-0 in the 32nd minute when Jarmanpreet Singh capitalized on a loose ball in the circle and slotted it past the Korean goalkeeper. However, Korea responded almost immediately. Jihun Yang converted a penalty corner just a minute later, narrowing the gap to 3-1 and restoring hope for the Korean side.
Despite Korea's brief resurgence, India maintained control for the remainder of the game. Harmanpreet Singh struck again in the final minute of the third quarter, scoring his second goal of the night from yet another penalty corner. His precise drag-flick made it 4-1, effectively putting the game out of Korea's reach.
The final quarter was a display of solid game management by India, who dominated possession and denied Korea any further opportunities. Defensive stalwarts like Jarmanpreet and Amit Rohidas were instrumental in keeping the Korean attacks at bay, while goalkeeper Krishan Bahadur Pathak made crucial saves to ensure India's lead remained intact.
India will now face China in the final of the Asian Champions Trophy 2024. The title decider is set for tomorrow at 3:30 PM IST, as India aims to defend their crown and claim back-to-back victories in the prestigious tournament.
