India started their Asiad campaign in a brilliant fashion. They thrashed Uzbekistan 16-0 in Pool A, in their first outing. In their second match, they continued their dominance and crushed Singapore 16-1.
Japan had a similar start. They defeated Bangladesh 7-2 and then went on to beat Uzbekistan 10-1 in yet another dominating display of field hockey.
