India Blue to take on India Red in South Asia Universities Hockey finals

Amritsar, March 15 : India Blue and India Red hockey teams will clash for the first South Asia Universities Hockey title to be played on Sunday at Guru Hargobind Astroturf Stadium here at the Guru Nanak Dev University. On the third day of the ongoing championship, the match played between India Blue and India Red ended in a 1-1 draw.

Till half time India Red were ahead by 1-0 after Bikramjit Singh scored the first goal.

After the break, the India Blue desperate to score the equaliser, succeeded in the 55th minute when Major Singh scored a field goal.

But despite all efforts both the teams struggled in vain to take the lead.

Former Olympian and Arjuna Awardee Harmik Singh would be the chief guest on this occasion.

Professor Dr. Jai Rup Singh, Vice-Chancellor would preside over the award ceremony.

In another match, Sri Lanka suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Pakistan in its third league match. It turned a one-sided game as Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 26-0.
