BSF, PNB, IHF(U-21) in Nehru Hockey Super League

New Delhi, Nov 19 (UNI) Border Security Force and PNB XI scored identical 2-1 victories over Army XI and Air India respectively to advance into the Super League of the 44th Nehru Hockey tournamnet here today.

In the first match today, BSF were trailing 0-1 at the half time with Army XI's A Arumugam finding the target in the 29th minute.

BSF came back strongly after the breather and found the equaliser a minute into the second session through Sushil Kumar (36th).

Mandeep Singh struck for BSF two minutes later which turned out to be the winning goal.

PNB XI did not have much opposition from Air India.

The bankmen led 1-0 at half time through Yudhveer (21st) and Navdeep Singh made it 2-0 in the 43rd minute.

Joga Singh reduced the margin for Airmen in the 44th minute.

IHF (Under 21) also made it to the Super League with an easy 4-1 victory over South Central Railway in the third match.

Abdul scored a surprise goal in the fourth minute to put the Railwaymen in the lead but that turned out to be a false dawn with the IHF side totally dominating the match later on.

Arjun Antil (23rd), Parmod Dhir (26th), Danish Mustaba (58th) and Jujhar Singh (59th) scored for the IHF side to make it to the Super League.
