The Delhi SG Pipers have significantly enhanced their squad for the upcoming Hockey India League (HIL), which starts in December 28 in Rourkela.
Owned by SG Sports, Media & Entertainment (SGSE), the Delhi-based franchise strategically fortified its team by acquiring a mix of skilled Indian and foreign players during the auction held on Tuesday. Notably, the addition of esteemed international players such as Tomas Domene, Christopher Ruhr, and Flynn Ogilvie on the second day of the player auction in New Delhi has substantially bolstered the men's squad.

The team made significant foreign signings, acquiring Argentine forward Tomas Domene for Rs. 36 lakh and German forward Christopher Ruhr for Rs. 18 lakh. Ruhr, known for his aggressive playing style, brings valuable Olympic experience to the team, while Domene, with his goal-scoring ability, is expected to enhance the team’s attacking prowess.
Following a bold investment in young Indian player Rohit, the team continued to show confidence in young Indian talent by securing the promising junior Aditya Lalage for Rs. 20 lakhs. PR Sreejesh, the former India goalkeeper who won the Bronze medal in Paris Olympics, has been appointed as the director of the Delhi SG Pipers.
