The FIH Hockey5s Women's World Cup 2024, the first-ever edition of the show-piece tournament, is all set to take place from Wednesday (January 24) to Saturday (January 27) in Muscat, Oman.
A total of 16 teams will participate in the FIH Hockey5s Women's World Cup 2024 in which the pool stage will see the 16 teams divided into 4 groups of 4 teams each with the top two entering the medal rounds and the remaining teams enter the classification round.

The medal round will feature the quarterfinals, semifinals, bronze medal match and the gold medal match, while the classification round will be held to determine the 9th to 16th ranked teams.
The Indian Women's Team, which comfortably beat Thailand 7-2 in the Final of the 2023 Women's Asian Hockey5s World Cup Qualifier to confirm a spot for the prestigious tournament, find themselves in Pool C alongside the United States, Poland and Namibia.
Pool A will consist of hosts Oman, Malaysia, Fiji and Netherlands, while Pool B features Australia, South Africa, Ukraine and Zambia, and in the final pool - Pool D, New Zealand have been drawn alongside Uruguary, Thailand and Paraguay.
The Indian Women's Team will be led by experienced goalkeeper Rajni Etimarpu and Vice Captained by defender Mahima Chaudhary. The team also comprises Bansari Solanki as the second goalkeeper, with Akshata Abaso Dhekale and Jyoti Chhatri as defenders.
Mariana Kujur and Mumtaz Khan are the midfielders, while Ajmina Kujur, Rutaja Dadaso Pisal and Deepika Soreng have been named as forwards to round off the 10-member squad that has travelled to Oman.
India will play their first match against Poland and United States of America January 24 followed by their final group game against Namibia on January 25.
The top two teams from each group will play the quarterfinals scheduled for January 26, with the semi-finals scheduled the same day while the Finals will be played on January 27.
