After a thrilling comeback victory against the Netherlands in the Quarter-Final of the FIH Hockey Men's Junior World Cup Malaysia 2023, the Indian Junior Men's Hockey Team is gearing up to face Germany in the Semi-Finals on December 14, 2023, in Kuala Lumpur.

The team secured a 4-2 win against Korea, faced a 4-1 loss to Spain, and made a strong comeback with a 10-1 victory over Canada, ultimately finishing second in Pool C.

Captain Uttam Singh reflected on the team's ability to handle pressure, citing previous successes in crucial matches.

Having faced Germany four times this year, the Indian team has suffered defeats in all encounters, including a 3-6 loss in the Sultan of Johor Cup 2023.

Their last defeat against Germany occurred in the Semi-Finals of the FIH Odisha Hockey Men's Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021.

The team's Chief Coach emphasized analyzing all teams in the World Cup, learning from previous matches, and expressing confidence in executing their game plan against Germany.

As the only Asian team among the Semi-Finalists, Captain Uttam Singh expressed confidence in the team's good form and understanding of Germany's strengths and weaknesses.

He highlighted the team's determination to go beyond mere participation and strive for victory. The Semi-Final clash against Germany holds significance in the team's quest for the title, with the players motivated to give their best.
