Harmanpreet Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, and Abhishek capitalised upon their opportunities, while Sreejesh excelled as the goalkeeper, securing a bonus point for India.

India began cautiously, preventing Argentina from easily penetrating the striking circle. Meanwhile, the forwards devised a clever strategy that pressured Argentina's defenders into making mistakes. This tactic paid off when Mandeep Singh scored from close range in the 11th minute, giving India a 1-0 lead with four minutes left in the first quarter. India maintained this 1-0 lead at the end of the quarter.

At the start of the second quarter, India launched an aggressive offensive, dominating possession and pressing Argentina’s defence with continuous attacks. Despite this, Argentina levelled the score through Lucas Martinez (20’) from a penalty corner.

India had a chance to regain the lead with a penalty corner five minutes before halftime, but Harmanpreet's shot missed the mark. The teams went into the half-time break tied at 1-1.

As India sought to seize the initiative, the third quarter provided an engaging display of fast-paced hockey from both sides, as each team intensified their offensive efforts. Despite the absence of goals, the score remained deadlocked at 1-1 by the quarter's conclusion, creating tense moments for both teams.

With just 15 minutes remaining, India intensified their pressure on Argentina, launching relentless attacks. Lalit Kumar Upadhyay scored in the 55th minute, giving India a 2-1 lead.

However, in the final minute, Argentina earned a penalty corner and equalized with Tomas Domene's goal, leading to a 2-2 draw at the end of regulation time and taking the match into a shootout. Next up, the Indian Men’s Hockey Team will face Belgium.
