Germany defeats India in womens' hockey WC

Rosario(Argentina), Sep 4: Indian hockey women lost 1-4 to Germany , which is a hat-trick of defeats in the quadrennial event of hockey World Cup in Rasario, Argentina.

India's third consecutive defeat in Pool A means the Surinder Kaur-led side is still without points in the tournament and are virtually out of the medal race.

The victory of Germany took a step closer towards the semi-finals spot after having won all their three pool matches so far.

India will next play Japan in their penultimate pool match on Sunday, Sep 5 while Germany will be up against defending champions Netherlands.
