Hero Hockey India League 2027: Player Registration Opens Ahead Of September Auction

Player registration for the Hero Hockey India League 2027 auction is now open, with Hockey India starting the process on 15th May 2026 at 11:00 AM IST. The auction is set for September 2026, and the league will be played in January 2027.

Registrations are open to all eligible Indian and international players through a single online link. The Hero HIL aims to draw leading men’s and women’s talent from top hockey nations. The window will stay open until 24th July 2026, closing at midnight IST.

Eligible hockey nations

The 2027 season will again feature elite names from India and abroad. Hockey India has listed specific eligible countries for men’s and women’s players, covering major hockey regions across Asia, Europe, Oceania, Africa, and the Americas for the next Hero HIL auction pool.

League growth and previous season numbers

The Hero HIL returned in 2024–25 and continued in 2025–26, with eight men’s and four women’s franchises in the last season. More than 1,000 players registered for the most recent auction, underlining strong interest from Indian and international hockey communities.

Recent champions and on-field results

The previous edition produced close contests across both divisions. SG Pipers secured the Women’s Hero Hockey India League 2026 title, while Vedanta Kalinga Lancers claimed the Men’s competition, underlining the depth of talent now present across the franchise line-ups.
