HIL: The Vedanta Kalinga Lancers clinched a thrilling 3-2 penalty shootout victory against the Delhi SG Pipers in an exhilarating Pool-A clash of the Hockey India League (HIL) 2025 at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela on Sunday.

The nail-biting encounter marked the beginning of Phase 2 of the league and showcased exceptional determination from both sides. The Lancers delighted their home crowd with a dramatic comeback, overturning a 4-1 deficit to level the game 5-5 in regulation time.

Goalkeeper Toby Reynolds-Cotterill emerged as the hero for Kalinga, making three crucial saves during the shootout to secure their fourth win of the season. The defeat extended Delhi's losing streak to seven matches.
