Hockey Asian Champions Trophy 2023: Full Schedule, Teams, Venue

The Asian Men's Hockey Champions Trophy 2023 will be the sixth edition of the tournament and will be taking place in Chennai.

Six best Asian teams are taking part in the Champions Trophy and the tournament will be played from August 3 to August 12.

"We are honoured to be chosen as the host country for the upcoming Hero Asian Champions Trophy. This illustrates India's growing stature in international hockey. We are excited to put our best foot forward as both hosts and competitors during the Hero Asian Champions Trophy Chennai 2023," Hockey India secretary general Bhola Nath Singh said.

There will be six teams participating in the tournament. The hosts India will be joined by Pakistan, South Korea, Japan, China and Malaysia.

All the matches of the tournament will be played at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai.

Hockey Asian Champions Trophy 2023 Format

The six teams are put in a single group. All the teams will play in a round-robin format and then the top four teams will advance to the semi-finals. The winners of the semifinals will play the Final and there is also a 3rd/4th place playoff match.

Asian Champions Trophy 2023 Schedule

South Korea and Japan will lock horns with each other in the opening game of the tournament. There will be three matches in a day as India also play China in the final match of the opening day.
