The men's Asian Champions Trophy, an annual hockey tournament organized by Asian Hockey Federation, sees either five or six teams from the Asian continent battling for the title at a single host venue.
The Hockey Asian Champions Trophy, which was founded in 2011, was held every year from 2011 to 2013, but was not held in 2014 and 2015 before it was held again in 2016, 2018, 2021 and 2023.

As it stands, there has been seven editions of the ACT held and only three teams of the eight that have competed at the event has gone on to lift the title. Among the three, two nations have won it more than once.
India is the most successful side, having won a record four times followed by Pakista, who won the ACT title three times. The two nations also shared the trophy once as the final was washed out due to rain. South Korea is the only other team to have lifted the ACT title, having won the tournament in 2021.
Pakistan also has the most runners up finish along with Japan as both side have ended on the losing the side in the ACT final two times so far. India also has finished runners up once so far.

Like most tournaments, the Asian Champions Trophy also rewards the third-placed team with a bronze medal for the winner of the match between two losing semifinalists.
In the seven editions held so far, Malaysia has finished as the third-placed team five times, beating Japan and China twice as well as South Korea once in their five third-place playoffs. India and Japan also have won the third-place playoff once each, beating Pakistan and Korea respectively to the bronze.
