Hockey India League Points Table on January 24: Tamil Nadu Dragons reclaimed top spot in the HIL men's standings after a shoot-out win over Hyderabad Toofans, who remained in the top four despite the result on Thursday (January 23).

UP Rudras stayed on top of the points table after knocking out Team Gonasika from the semi-final race earlier in the week, when Soorma Hockey Club ended Delhi SG Pipers' hopes of a top four finish, and also leapfrogged Rarh Bengal Tigers with another win.

Kalinga Lancers and Rarh Bengal Tigers battled to climb back up the standings when the two teams faced off on Friday (January 24) at the Jaipal Singh Stadium in Ranchi, where the Tigers sealed a crucial win to get back in semifinal contention.

In HIL 2024/25, each team will battle every other team in the first phase of the tournament, before the eight teams are divided into two groups of four teams each in the second phase, where each team will play the other team of their respective group once to decide the top four, who will play the knockout rounds.

In total, each team will be playing 10 matches each in the league stage of the tournament with the top four after the two phases heading into the knockout round that includes the semi-finals followed by the third-place playoff and the title clash.

The league phase, which started on December 28, 2024, will conclude on January 29, 2025 before the knock out round kicks off on January 31 with the two semi-finals followed by the third-place playoff and the final on February 1, 2025.
