Hockey India League Points Table on January 12: Tamil Nadu Dragons remained on top of HIL men's standings, but early leaders UP Rudras moved to the second spot following a 3-1 win over Delhi SG Pipers on Saturday (January 11).

Hyderabad Toofans, however, moved to second a day later after thrashing Vedanta Kalinga Lancers 5-1 in the only match on Sunday (January 12) at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela.

In HIL 2024/25, each team will battle every other team in the first phase of the tournament, before the eight teams are divided into two groups of four teams each in the second phase, where each team will play the other team of their respective group once to decide the top four, who will play the knockout rounds.

In total, each team will be playing 10 matches each in the league stage of the tournament with the top four after the two phases heading into the knockout round that includes the semi-finals followed by the third-place playoff and the title clash.

The league phase, which started on December 28, 2024, will conclude on January 29, 2025 before the knock out round kicks off on January 31 with the two semi-finals followed by the third-place playoff and the final on February 1, 2025.
