Hockey India Unveils 32-Member Men’s Squad for FIH Pro League 2024-25 Matches in Bhubaneswar

Hockey India has unveiled a 32-member Indian Men's Hockey squad for the Bhubaneswar leg of the FIH Pro League 2024-25 on Thursday, set to take place at the iconic Kalinga Hockey Stadium from February 15 to 25.

The team, led by experienced drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh as captain and Hardik Singh as vice-captain, will face Spain, Germany, Ireland, and England, playing each team twice.

The squad features a strong mix of seasoned players and fresh faces. First-choice goalkeeper Krishan Bahadur Pathak will be supported by Suraj Karkera and Princedeep Singh in goal. The defensive lineup includes Jarmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, Harmanpreet Singh, Sumit, Sanjay, Jugraj Singh, Nilam Sanjeep Xess, Varun Kumar, and Yashdeep Siwach.

In midfield, the team will rely on the skills of Rajkumar Pal, Shamsher Singh, Manpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Nilakanta Sharma, Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh, and Rajinder Singh. The attack is bolstered by forwards Abhishek, Sukhjeet Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Mandeep Singh, Gurjant Singh, Boby Singh Dhami, Shilanand Lakra, Dilpreet Singh, Araijeet Singh Hundal, Uttam Singh, Angad Bir Singh, and Arshdeep Singh.

The Bhubaneswar leg will see two young players, Angad Bir Singh (22) and Arshdeep Singh (20), making their senior team debuts after impressive performances in the junior ranks and the ongoing Hockey India League.

Indian Men's Team Head Coach Craig Fulton expressed confidence in the squad. "I'm very pleased with the team we've selected for the FIH Pro League matches in Bhubaneswar. This group has the potential to deliver strong performances, play cohesively, and showcase an exciting brand of hockey. I'm eager to begin training with them and aim to start the campaign on a positive note," he said.

He added, "Over the last few weeks, I've been closely observing these players and am excited to see them compete against some of the world's top teams."
