Hockey WC: Shivendra's ban reduced to 2 matches

New Delhi, Mar 2: In minor relief to Hockey India, the 3 match ban against Indian Hockey player Shivendra Singh has been reduced to two matches on Tuesday, Mar 2, media reports said.

The decision was taken by the three member panel of International Hockey Federation (FIH) following an appeal against the ban by the Indian hockey team management.

Shivendra was slapped with a ban of three matches for hitting a Pakistani Hockey player during their opening match of the World Cup on Sunday, Feb 28.

India went on to win the match against Paksitan by scoring 4-1.

The Indian Hockey player will miss the matches against Australia and Spain.
