New Delhi, Oct 31: It was a perfect Diwali gift to the nation from the Indian hockey team on Sunday.
And, yes we celebrated the victory in a big way. Diwali, the festivals of lights, was celebrated across the country on Sunday.
Moreover, border skirmishes along the line of control in Jammu and Kashmir continued unabated on Sunday too. India lost several jawans fighting against Pakistani gunmen in the last few days.
Thus the Indian hockey team winning the Asian Champions Trophy, 2016, by beating arch-rivals Pakistan in the finals at Kuantan, Malaysia on Sunday, holds great importance. Favourites India prevailed 3-2 over Pakistan to win the trophy for the second time.
Right from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, political leaders to sports personalities, everyone profusely praised the members of the Indian hockey team for bringing laurels to the country.

Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley too congratulated the hockey team.
"Congratulations Team India hockey team for wining Asian Champions Trophy in Malaysia. Great victory. We are all very proud of you," said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Among others to congratulate the hockey team are Communist Party of India-Marxist general secretary Sitaram Yechury and Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken.
