India juniors enter semi-finals in eight nation hockey

Chennai, Aug 11 (UNI) India juniors entered the semi-finals topping the pool after defeating hosts Germany 2-1 in the last round robin league outing in the eight nation hockey tournament.

In a late night match yesterday, India recovered from a one goal deficit and turned the tables on the hosts.

Jaywant Singh equalised and India took the lead through Pramod Kumar.

The goal turned out to be the match winner, according to IHF secretary K Jyothikumaran here.

India will take on Belgium in the semi-final in a late night match today.
