India thrash Korea 7-2 to clinch Asia Cup

Chennai, sep 9: India pumped in a deluge of goals against Korea in title clash of Asia Cup at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai on Sunday evening.


India sounded the board for seven times while Korea managed two before the packed stadia.


The hosts led 3-1 at half-time, played neat hockey. They defended well, midfielder and forwards had a proper co-ordination and Tushar Khandekar playing at right flank , though scored one thro' the smart deflection from the hit taken by Ignace Tirkey but played key role in several of the goals.
However Indian custodian Baljit Singh was the star of the evening. Koreans found him hard to penetrate. Baljit came up with good saves at regular intervels.

The fare play team in the tournament was won by Pakistan team.>
