Confirmation of India's qualification for the quarterfinals as they beat South Korea (4-2) and Canada (10-1) in the Pool C behind leaders Spain, who defeated India 4-1!

Aditya Lalage collects man of the match award for a dazzling show on the day. The first two quarters saw Canada kept things tight at the back but Aditya Lalage unlocked the defense with his opening strike and made direct runs from the left-hand side on numerous instances to keep the pressure on the rivals!

Indian men's U-21 hockey team are facing Canada in their last Pool C match at the Malaysia National Hockey Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (December 9). The Indian junior hockey team's Men's FIH Junior World Cup 2023 campaign was handed a jolt in their second game by Spain, who outmaneuvered CR Kumar's side 4-1 after the two-time champions won their opening game against South Korea 4-2. The defeat left India in a spot of bother.
India are currently second on the table while South Korea are third after losing their last group match against Spain, who galloped them 8-2 to top Pool C with nine points in three games. This means a draw will be enough to seal India's quarterfinal spot and in a worst-case scenario, they need to avoid a defeat of more than five goals against Canada.
For Canada to dish out a high-scoring show, the North Americans have to punch way above their weight as they lost their opening game to Spain 7-0 before going 4-1 down to the Koreans. Canada need to worry about the attacking prowess of Indian forwards more in the game.
