The two victories have propelled India to the second spot in the FIH Pro League table with 17 points. They are now three points behind Spain, who have played eight games in comparison to India's six. The national team won four of those games while losing and drawing a match each.
Germany, who since then defeated Australia 1-0 on Saturday (March 11), are down at fourth on the table with their latest defeat to India and have won three of their six games to have 11 points.
The 9-team FIH Pro League 2022-23 season will see all the teams face off against each other in a round-robin format home and away. The team with the most points at the end of the season (June) will take the winners' trophy.
For India, who finished third last season, skipper Harmanpreet has been in great touch with five penalty corners successfully converted across two games. Sukhjeet Singh has been in form as well with two field goals against Germany in their last encounter while Selvam Karthi scored a field goal against Australia as well.
