However, the bright start was followed by a morale-shapping loss to Spain, who dominated every facets of the match for a 4-1 rout. That's why the win against Canada sent a warning signal to Netherlands that India can't be taken lightly for the title knockout match.
Netherlands, meanwhile, qualified for the quarterfinal by topping the Pool D ahead of Pakistan with seven points, defeating New Zealand (3-1) and Belgium (5-3) after being held for a draw in their opening match to Pakistan 3-3. Olivier Hortensius and Capser Van der Veen has been their star players with three goals to their names each in as many games.
