Mohammed Raheel Mouseen, a promising midfielder in the Indian Men's Hockey Team, has expressed his ambition for consistent performance in the international arena.
Hailing from a family deeply rooted in hockey, Raheel has successfully carved his niche by securing a spot in the 24-member squad for the upcoming FIH Hockey Pro League 2023/24 matches in Antwerp and London. The Bengaluru native aims to leverage this opportunity to cement his position for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Having debuted in the FIH Pro League 2022/23 against New Zealand and Spain, Raheel has experienced the highs and lows of international hockey. His journey has also taken him to Australia with the Indian team in 2022 and 2024, where he showcased his skills on an international platform.
As the Paris 2024 Olympics loom, Raheel's focus is unwavering, emphasising the importance of the Pro League matches in preparation for the grand event. "The main focus is to prepare for the Olympics," Raheel remarked, highlighting the significance of the FIH Hockey Pro League as a preparatory phase.
Despite the challenges of securing a stable position in the squad, he views the upcoming matches as a crucial step towards achieving his Olympic dream. Raheel's dedication to improving and contributing to the team's success is evident as he gears up to face top teams like Belgium, Germany, and Great Britain in the Pro League.
Raheel's anticipation for the matches against formidable European teams is palpable. He is keen to test his mettle against new opponents, confident that his dodging abilities will come in handy. With European teams employing similar strategies, Raheel's unique skills could be a game-changer, providing the Indian team with an edge.
The competition for a place in the Indian squad is intense, but Raheel sees it as a positive force driving the team forward. "The competition in the team is truly healthy as we push each other to do better," he said.
This spirit of camaraderie and collective effort is what Raheel believes will enhance the team's performance, not just in the Pro League, but also in their ultimate goal—the Paris 2024 Olympics.
