Indian men's hockey team players set to receive cash rewards of Rs 15 Lakh each from Hockey India and the Odisha government following their bronze medal win at the Paris Olympics 2024.
A brace from skipper Harmanpreet Singh and PR Sreejesh's effortless saves secured a second successive bronze medal for India at the Paris Olympic Games with a 2-1 win over Spain at the Yves du Manoir Stadium on Thursday (August 8).

Hockey India announced a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh for each player of the men's hockey team and Rs 7.5 lakh for each member of the support staff in recognition of their bronze medal triumph.
Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey lauded the team's historic performance, and said, as quoted from HI, "This victory is a testament to the hard work, determination, and resilience of our players and support staff.
"Winning back-to-back Olympic medals is an extraordinary achievement that reflects the resurgence of Indian hockey on the world stage. On behalf of Hockey India, I congratulate the entire team and support staff for their exceptional performance and dedication.
"The cash prizes are a token of our appreciation for their relentless pursuit of excellence. I would also like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to PR Sreejesh for his stellar career and invaluable contributions to Indian hockey. His legacy will inspire future generations."
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced that his government will give a cash award of Rs 1 crore to each hockey player from the state, who was part of the Indian men's team that won a bronze medal.
"As per our sports policy, we will give 1 crore for each bronze medal players of Punjab. Chak De India," Bhagwant Mann posted on X after congratulating the team on the bronze win.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated the Indian men's hockey team for winning the bronze medal at the Olympic Games, and announced a reward of Rs 15 lakh for each player in the squad.
At a press conference, CM Majhi announced that a reward of Rs 10 lakhs has been allocated for the staff of the Indian men's hockey team. He also stated that Odisha's Amit Rohidas will be rewarded Rs 4 crore.
"Indian Hockey team defeated Spain and won the bronze medal, the upcoming generation will remember this victory... I congratulate Amit Rohidas and all the other players for their performance, and I also announce that Rs 15 lakhs will be given to all the players and Rs 10 lakhs to the staff... Amit Rohidas will be given Rs 4 crore...," CM Majhi said.
