Indian Oil humiliate CRPF 12-1 in Shastri Hockey

Gurgaon, Nov 28 (UNI) Inderjit Singh scored a hat-trick as Indian Oil humiliated CRPF 12-1, while ONGC overpowered Namdhari XI 2-1 in the league phase of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hockey Tournament here today.

For Indian Oil, who was leading 4-0 in the half time, Inderjit (8th, 52nd, 67th) scored a hat-trick while Deepak Thakur (10th, 56th), V Raghunath (42nd, 47th) and Hamza Mujtaba (54th, 70th) scored a brace each.

Prabhjot Singh (24th), Rajpal Singh (28th) and Bharat Chhikara (37th) also helped the oilmen to increase the margin while the lone goal for CRPF came from Amiritvir Singh (46th) through a penalty corner.

ONGC came back strongly after trailing by one goal, which was struck in the third minute of the first half, to strike home twice through Amit Bhargav (20th) and Jayanta Meitei (26th).

The opening match of the day saw BPCL overwhelming SC Railway 2-1. All the three goals were scored in the first half only.

The last match of the day between Air India and PNB ended in a draw with both the teams locked at 1-1 after full time.
