IOC beat Namdhari XI 5-2 in Ranjit Singh hockey

New Delhi, Mar 8 (UNI) Indian Oil outplayed and Namdhari XI 5-2 while Bharat Petroleum rode on a Amar Aiyamma brace to beat Punjab National bank 3-1 in the league matches of the third Maharaja Ranjit Singh hockey tournament at Shivaji Stadium here today.

V Raghunath (10th, 12th minutes) and Deedar Singh (45th, 58th) scored two goals apiece while Prabhjot Singh found the target once for IOC in the Pool I match.

For the Namdharis, Sher Singh (18th) and Gurpreet Singh (42nd) sounded the board.

In the Pool II match, Sukhpal Singh put PNB ahead in the 32nd minute but it was all over Bharat Petroleum after that as Amar Aiyamma (45th, 61st) and Tushar Khandekar (60th) scored three field goals to help their team walked away with full points.
