IWHF names Dutchman Herman Kruis as coach ahead of Asia Cup
New Delhi, Aug 2 (UNI) In a bid to bolster National team's performance in the crucial Asia Cup, Indian Women Hockey Federation (IWHF) today named Dutchman Herman Kruis as coach of the team for the upcoming tournament.
The sixth edition of the Asia cup is to be played in Hong Kong from September 1-9.
Kruis, the first foreign coach to be hired by the IWHF, joined the national side in Lucknow, where at present a coaching-cum-training camp is going on.
He is presently the executive Director of Johan Cruyff College.
Kruis also has been a coach with the Hertogenbosch women's team, which has been the National Champion of Netherlands seven successive times. Apart from that under him, the Dutch club has also been the undisputed European Club Champion for seven consecutive years since 2000.
He was also the chief coach of the Dutch National Indoor team that won the FIH World Cup Indoor in Vienna this year.
