Junior National under-18 Hockey begins Apr 14

Hyderabad, Apr 11 (UNI) As many as 36 teams, including defending champions Karnataka, will take part in the Junior National under-18 Hockey Championships to be held at Nagarjuna University Campus in Guntur from April 14 to 22.

Speaking to UNI here today, Andhra Hockey Association Secretary Niranjan Reddy said. ''The teams are divided into eight pools. League matches will be held from April 14 to 18 while quarterfinals will be held on April 19. Semifinals will be on April 21 and final on April 22.'' Pools: Pool-A: Karnataka, Orissa, Patiala and Vidarbha.

Pool-B: Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Sindh Bank, Jharkhand, Kerala and Tripura.

Pool-C: Manipur, SAI, Hyderabad, Himachal Pradesh and Goa.

Pool-D: Punjab, SSCB, Bengal and Pondicherry.

Pool-E: Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

Pool-F: Jammu and Kashmir, Namdhari, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Andamans.

Pool-G: Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Assam.

Pool-H: Mumbai, SAIL, Bhopal and Uttaranchal.
